The Present

So, on my last post I talked about how communication started and a brief history of communication. I talked about telegrams, letters, who invented this and that and finally I came to end my post the last time by talking how the world has evolved in so many ways and so has communication. Which is true. From there was no sense of communication until here we are now, a world filled with hundreds of ways to communicate with one another from all around the globe.

Here's a short video that will explain a little bit of the evolution of communication:

Interesting, right? I mean, ever since the world was born there wasn't any sense of communication at all hence in the video it showed about the cavemen finding it very hard to talk to one another and now here we are. We now have text messaging, photo sharing, teleconferencing, thousand of different apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Viber, Skype and a lot more. These are all the type of communications that we have and use now in order to communicate with one another. All of which requires the internet. Ah yes, the famous invention of the internet. I mean really, without the internet none of the apps or ways of communication today can be used and we'd go back to square one.

How we communicate today is very different to how people used to communicate then as mentioned before. However, not everything about it is different. I mean, we still write and send letters, especially if it's an official matter. We still use text messaging.. Okay, that wasn't really a long time ago from now but it started in the early 80s? That's already 20 years.. Or more even!

Other than that, working people in offices still use faxing machines to deliver their work. We still use emails, although rarely because of the instant messaging that we use now but some people still uses it. The present, which is now, have so many different ways to communicate until sometimes we, us, the humans ourselves are baffled as to which one do we use often and how many else do we need to use. It can be both bad and good, technology. Which will bring me to my next post, I will be talking about the advantages and disadvantages of today's way of communicating.

Till next time,
H.
